I first met Steve Russell in 1994 when we both worked at a small family-owned CD-ROM start-up called Sirius Publishing in Phoenix. Over the next 4 years, Sirius became the #1 CD-ROM company in the industry then branching out into technology with their ground-breaking Motion Pixels video compression. And Steve played a pivotal role throughout. He was one of those guys that quietly went about his business to get the job done---and he always did.

After everyone at Sirius went their own way, I stayed in contact with Steve—because you always want to stay in touch with talented people that cross your path. Whether it was at other companies I've run or for personal projects I was doing, if I needed something in a pinch—from a website—to software development—I was always able to count on Steve, usually at the last minute, to deliver.
